Michael Hofstetter, who trained at the Richard Strauss Conservatory in Munich, conducted the Opera of Passau, then the Wiesbaden Opera. Sought after by the most famous European and North American Opera houses, he also teaches orchestra conducting and early music at the University and Music Academy in Mainz. A former music director of the Geneva Chamber Orchestra, he has been regularly invited to the prestigious Salzburg Festival since 2003 and since 2005, he is the principal conductor of the Ludwigsburg Festival. Since 2006, Michael Hofstetter has been the music director of the Stuttgart Chamber Orchestra.
