Created by Karl Munchinger in 1945, this distinguished ensemble boasts a very comprehensive repertory. Under the artistic direction of its founder, the Stuttgart Chamber Orchestra was the orchestra-in-residence of the Colmar Festival from 1979 to 1988. And in 2004, the ensemble, conducted by Dennis Russell Davies, delighted Colmar audiences. A tribute to Karl Munchinger was inconceivable without the presence of this orchestra... The Stuttgart musicians will open the 2012 Festival with three brilliant, lively concerts.
