The 22nd International Festival of Colmar will take place from Friday, 2nd July until Tuesday, 13th July 2010.
For the first time in the Festival's history, the 2010 edition features a double tribute to two emblematic figures of the early 20th-century musical world, Maurice Ravel (1875-1937) and Sergei Rachmaninov (1873-1943).
2010 is the year of Russia in France and of France in Russia and, given the strong cultural ties that have long existed between the two countries, a double tribute was a must! Beyond the clichés and received ideas, the 2010 program invites you to discover lesser known facets of the works of these two pianist-composer geniuses, highlighting the many reciprocal influences that Russian and French music have had on each other.
