“Sokolov is a real phenomenon in music!” (The New York Times)

Born in Leningrad, Grigory Sokolov made a splash in 1966 when at the age of sixteen he became the youngest winner of the prestigious Tchaikovsky Competition. An atypical and truly unconventional musician, this tireless perfectionist is emerging as one of the greatest pianists of our time and is compared to Glenn Gould or Emil Gilels. He is returning to Colmar for the seventh consecutive year after his prodigious recitals given since 2006.
