To open the 32nd Colmar Music Festival, Vladimir Spivakov has swapped the conductor's baton for his favourite instrument, the violin. He will be playing one of Ivry Gitlis' standard pieces, Berg's Violin Concerto, a monument to 20th century music for violin and orchestra. The orchestra will be led by the young French conductor Pierre Bleuse.
