Shicong Li, cello
Shicong Li, born in 2002 in southern China, discovered a passion for music at an early age. He began playing the cello at the age of 8.
In 2015, Shicong Li joined the pre-college programme at the Central Conservatory of Music in Beijing, where he studied under Yibing Chu.
In 2017, as a member of the National Youth Orchestra of China (NYO-China), he toured the United States, performing at Carnegie Hall in New York, and China with renowned soloists such as Yujia Wang and Olga Kern.
In 2019, he joined Jérôme Pernoo's class at the Paris Conservatoire (CNSM). That same year, he also won first prize at the Luthierclar competition in Valence.
He regularly attends masterclasses and academies, where he has benefited from the advice of Clemens Hagen, Philippe Muller, Gary Hoffmann, Xenia Jankovic, and others.
Also in 2022, he participated in the Schlossakademie in Vienna, where he was selected to play Strauss's sonata at the Musikverein.
And in 2023, he participated in the master class at Kronberg Academy with Jérôme Pernoo and was selected to play at the student concert.
He is currently pursuing a master's degree at the Paris Conservatoire.
