Duo Argos,
The Argos Duo brings together two friends from the Paris Conservatory, one Greek and one French, around a
cosmopolitan repertoire. From George Gershwin to Fazil Say, via Radamés Gnattali, the two
companions bring together unknown composers and classical music standards in a
colourful concert programme.
Their version of Gershwin's Rhapsody in Blue is the centrepiece,
revealing an unprecedented combination of accordion and guitar at the crossroads of jazz and classical music
. In addition to this American programme, the duo ventures into Turkey with its version of Fazil Say's masterpiece
Black Earth, which brought the composer worldwide success in the 1990s. They
produce ‘totally mesmerising music, with an absolutely infinite play of textures’ (Clément
Rochefort, France Musique). Argos thus offers a cultural journey of unprecedented variety, following in the footsteps of the
mythical ship Argo, aboard which Jason and the Argonauts began their expedition to find the
Golden Fleece.
Duo Argos distinguished itself in 2020 with its version of Fazil Say's Black Earth, broadcast on France
Musique. Praised by the composer himself, this daring arrangement will feature in the Schott Music catalogue from next year
. The 2022-2023 season promises to be rich in projects, with a
programme marked by George Gershwin's Rhapsody in Blue and numerous concerts planned
throughout France as part of the 21st European Young Talents Festival. The duo will also record
the complete Retratos Suite by Radamés Gnattali.
Finally, the Duo Argos is preparing to complete its Master's degree in Chamber Music at the Paris Conservatoire.
